I became interested in accounting after arriving in United States. Briefly, I grew up in Romania and went to school to become a French and English Teacher. Third year in college, two other college mates and I decided to come and work during the summer in the United States. Consequently, I returned to Romania to complete and earn a BA college degree.

Back in United States I managed a gift store and then opened my own business in Rehoboth Beach, DE, the nation’s summer capital. Although summers were busy and full of tourists, winters were slow, which gave me the time to complete an accounting degree and eventually become a CPA.

Working at Burdette Smith and Bish has given me the opportunity to be exposed to a wide variety of work. On one hand I enjoy preparing the individual tax returns, which give me a chance to see the evolution of the taxpayers and discover their history. On the other hand, I am thrilled to work on business tax returns and see the creativity of entrepreneurs who are behind many successful small businesses, the backbone of America.

I come to work because I love what I do. More importantly, the partners and the coworkers have a combined valuable experience. I come to work because being part of such an amazing group of people is rewarding. When I leave work my day is complete. I will have learned something new every day whether it is meeting a new client, embracing new technology or giving back to the community.
