For me that’s a no-brainer. We all go to college with this over-fantasized dream of learning all the skills we’ll need to successfully “make it” in the real world. Unfortunately, many of us graduate with only a basic foundation upon which to build our careers and lack a guiding light to help get us to our goal. BSB has been that guiding light for me. I’ve never worked for a company before that cares so much about developing its employees and helping them get to their end goal.

Every day I come to work knowing I will learn something new, expand my skill set, personally help clients, and feel a sense of accomplishment when I leave.
Recently I made it through my first tax season and you know what? I had fun! There are not a whole lot of people who can say they had fun working long hours, through stress, and every day of the week, weeks on end… but I did! Throughout tax season I learned more than I ever imagined I could, I got to hangout with (aka work in the same room) some really cool people, and play really fun companywide games.

The people I work with, from staff accountants to partners, all keep a lively and energetic attitude while also being extremely approachable and easy to talk to. This fun staff really turns the stereotypical image of accountants (from TV and movies) on its head, and I couldn’t be luckier to work with such wonderful people.

Tom Burdette once said to me “Matt, don’t ever forget; you don’t work for me, you work with me.”  I’ve found not just the right firm, but the right family to continue my career with.
