Whether it’s learning Hawaiian for fun, recalling Latin from her college days, or looking for a new book on the Arlington County Library website, Sarah DeVoe’s love for language and learning is evident. That’s one of the things that helps her excel as a certified fraud examiner, CPA, and partner at BSB. Sarah shares her knowledge with others in the community by serving on several boards, including Doorways for Women and Families and Business Finance Group. She also shares advice she received from a mentor early in her career-“It all comes out in the statement of cash flows.” It refers to all the underlying transactions you don’t see at first glance, but when you start digging, you find all those secrets hidden in the numbers.
Sarah excels in providing accounting services for her clients in professional services, technology, and not-for-profit. She also excels in traveling many places, especially to her favorite vacation destination in Sonoma, California; shopping at the nearest mall; or cheering for her New York Mets and Richmond Spiders. If she’s not providing tax services, business entity selection, audits, financial statements, or peer reviews, she may be sipping a cup of tea and re-reading her favorite book, The Great Gatsby.
