Supervisor

An applicant for the position of supervisor will have obtained an undergraduate degree in Accounting or a related field. If an undergraduate degree is still in progress, at least 10 years experience in the public accounting field is required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervisors are generally assigned to practice areas of tax, accounting support and/or assurance. Within a particular practice area, supervisors are expected to perform the following duties:
  • Unaided preparation of complex tax returns - individual, business, fiduciary and others
  • Research tax law and regulations effectively
  • Resolve federal, state & local tax notices on behalf of clients
  • Draft a complete tax memo to include appropriate citations and conclusions
  • Assist in managing audit, review and compilation engagements including the necessary planning, fieldwork, write-up & preparation of financial statements and applicable disclosures
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of client’s industry & accounting system
  • Manage schedule effectively to ensure timeliness of all of projects
  • Prepare and lead in-house training sessions as requested
  • Participate in learning opportunities within the office and outside of BSG
